The Euroamérica Foundation is an independent organization. Its overriding objective is to stimulate cooperation and understanding between European and Latin American institutions, companies and personalities so as to foster relations between the two areas, primarily from the private sector. The Euroamérica Foundation wishes to reinforce the excellent opportunities to be had in both directions.

Founded in 1999 by an important group of European and Latin American institutions and personalities, membership to the Euroamérica Foundation is still open to public and private entities on both sides of the Atlantic, with the proviso of the objectives being assumed.

The Euroamérica Foundation can accommodate anybody who will contribute their experience and knowledge to broaden the areas of agreement between Europe and Latin America, welcoming ideas, projects and initiatives to increase familiarity between the two continents.

EUROAMERICA FOUNDATION ACTIVITIES

1. The organization of conferences or debate forums centring mainly on one specific country. Forums have been held in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Spain and Great Britain, the mainstay having been carried out under the auspices of the European Commission. International experts convene to debate the content of a program that has been drawn up jointly by the Foundation and the government of the respective country, in accordance with the interests of the latter.

2. The publication of the magazine "Forum" that reports on the activities of the Euroamérica Foundation and includes articles of opinion of personalities or interviews with politicians, business people or professionals.

With the support of the Instituto de Empresa Foundation (a sponsor of the Euroamérica Foundation) and the co-sponsorship of the Carolina Foundation, the Euroamérica Foundation has set up a post-graduate scholarship programme with the aim of providing specialized training in the sphere of technology applied to business management.

In collaboration with the Carolina Foundation and the teaching centre Centro de Estudios Garrigues, a sponsor of the Euroamérica Foundation, specialization scholarships are awarded covering all the master programmes offered by the Centro de Estudios Garrigues in Spain.

4. Meetings, centring on a special guest are arranged in collaboration with our sponsors and friends to debate aspects relative to the current state of affairs in the spheres of economy, politics, culture, etc.

The quality of the activities organized by the Euroamérica Foundation is a benchmark for all its sponsors and recipients of the same.

The sponsors fall into two categories:
Institutional: public and private entities

Personal: prestigious European and Latin American personalities who, through their leadership, lend their support and collaborate on the range of the activities carried out by the Euroamérica Foundation.



ORGANIZATION AND GOVERNANCE

In its first five years, the Euroamérica Foundation was presided over by the former Minister of State at the Foreign Office (European Affairs), Lord Garel-Jones. At present, Mr. Carlos Solchaga, former Spanish Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance is the President.

The Executive Committee of the Euroamérica Foundation, convenes on a monthly basis to assess the level of achievement in the foundation's objectives and to encourage new activities.
