Evelyn Regner is a European politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) and Member of the European Parliament, first elected in 2009.
As trade unionist, Evelyn Regner’s focus has always been on labour-related affairs, namely the improvement of workers’ rights. She fights for more tax justice and strengthening equality in Europe. She is the voice of workers and taxpayers when it comes to regulation of companies and financial markets, and is standing up for women’s rights and diversity.
In her current mandate, she was elected chair of the Delegation for relations with Mercosur. She is a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON). Additionally she is also a substitute member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) and of the Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC) as well as vice-head of the Austrian S&D-Delegation in the European Parliament.
Furthermore, Evelyn Regner is part of the Delegation to the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly and substitute member of the Delegation to the EU-Chile Joint Parliamentary Committee.
