The Euroamerica Foundation is an independent organization. Its overriding objective is to stimulate cooperation and understanding between European, American, and mainly Latin American institutions, companies and personalities so as to foster relations between the two continents, primarily from the private sector. The Euroamerica Foundation wishes to reinforce the excellent opportunities to be had in both directions.
Founded in 1999 by an important group of European and Latin American institutions and personalities. Membership is open to public and private entities on both sides of the Atlantic, those shearing the Euroamerica Foundation objectives.
The Foundation welcomes anybody who brings their experience and knowledge to broaden the areas of agreement between Europe and America, welcoming ideas, projects and initiatives to increase knowledge between the two continents.
1. The organization of conferences or debate forums
Centering mainly on one specific country. Forums have been held in Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Panama and the United States. International experts take part in the conference to discuss the different topics of the program that has been drawn together by the Foundation and the host country.
2. The publication of the magazine “Forum”
The Euroamerica Foundation publishes the magazine FORUM and its shorter electronic version Forum News, which periodically collects information of recent events we have organized. The website www.euroamerica.org is a platform to inform about objectives, and activities that are held.
3. Post-graduate scholarships for young Latin Americans:
With the support of the IE Business School, Centro de Estudios Garrigues (trustees of Euroamerica Foundation) and the co-sponsorship of the Carolina Foundation, the Euroamerica Foundation has set up a post-graduate scholarship program with the aim of providing specialized training for overseas students mainly from Latin America.
Centring on a special guest are arranged in collaboration with our sponsors and friends to debate aspects relative to the current state of affairs in the spheres of economy, politics, culture, etc.
The quality of the activities organized by the Euroamerica Foundation is a benchmark for all its sponsors and recipients of the same.
The members of the Board of Trustees
fall into two categories:
Spanish Ambassador. Director-General, Toledo International Center for Peace (CITpax)
Counselor of Repsol, Tele-5 and Prosegur, and film producer
German journalist and economist
In its first five years, the Euroamerica Foundation was presided over by the former Minister of State at the Foreign Office (European Affairs), Tristan Garel-Jones. From June 2004 till December 2010, Carlos Solchaga, former Spanish Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance, was the President.
The Director General is Luisa Peña
The Executive Committee of the Euroamerica Foundation, convenes on a monthly basis to assess the level of achievement in the foundation’s objectives and to encourage new activities.
