Luis Guerra is the Vice President Head of Programme Procurement Military Aircraft & FCAS, who manages all procurement related activities for all military aircraft programmes of Airbus Defence & Space. He is member of the Procurement Board of Airbus DS and member of the Military Aircraft ExCom. Before that, he was appointed, VP Head of M&L Transport and Mission A/C programmes of Airbus Defence & Space, which includes the medium and light military transports aircraft based on C212, CN-235 and C-295 platforms and their respective mission system derivative versions.
Previous to this appointment, Luis Guerra served as vice president, Head of Programme for the A350XWB Aircraft Rear Fuselage and Empennage for Airbus, and member of the Airbus Operations SL Board of Directors. In this position, Luis Guerra was accountable for the design, development and series production of the A350 XWB Rear Fuselage & Empennage components for both A350-900 and A350-1000 versions, including all A350 operations in China. Before that, Luis Guerra served as vice president Head of the A330 MRTT aircraft for the Royal Australian Airforce, the launch customer of the A330 MRTT Aircraft and managed the design and development of the A330 MRTT aircraft platform. Luis Guerra joined Airbus Group in 2001 in the Quality Directorate where he served Head of Process Improvement and as Head of Quality for the A400M programme.
Previously to joining Airbus, Luis Guerra served as Technical Director in CTA – Centro de Tecnologías Aeronáuticas, a Spanish Aeronautical Research Centre and has hold different management positions within UTC - Pratt & Whitney Customer Service Organisation. He also worked in the defence automotive industry and served in the Spanish Air Force.

Luis is Guerra holds a Project management Platinum certificate from Airbus since 2017 and is co-author of a project management book (Gestión Integral de Proyectos - ISBN: 84-95428-48-2) and has filed 7 patents. Luis belongs to the PM Ambassador Community in Airbus and holds an Airbus PM Platinum certificate.
Luis Guerra holds a Master degree in Aeronautical Engineering, a Master degree in Business Administration (MBA) and an advance degree in Program Management. Married with one son.
